Open enrollment for benefits began Monday and will remain open through Friday, October 14. During this period, UT faculty and staff have the opportunity to sign up for or make changes to their health, dental, vision, basic and term life, long-term care, and optional special accident insurance and their flexible spending accounts. Some large-scale changes to the retirement plans administered by the State of Tennessee and offered to UT employees will take effect on July 1. The changes will not impact existing UT employees. But all faculty and staff involved in recruiting and hiring new employees should understand the changes.
The open enrollment period for the Sick Leave Bank begins April 1 and ends on June 30. The Sick Leave Bank provides members who are experiencing serious illnesses or injuries an opportunity to request additional paid leave from the bank after exhausting all accrued personal leave.
Human Resources and the Benefits and Retirement offices are hosting a two-day Life Planning Seminar on April 11 and 12. Topics will include retiree health insurance, deferred compensation, financial planning, and more. Employees can pick which sessions they attend. All sessions are free, though pre-registration is required.
