The open enrollment period for the Sick Leave Bank begins April 1 and ends June 30. The Sick Leave Bank provides members who are experiencing serious illnesses or injuries an opportunity to request additional paid leave from the bank after exhausting all accrued personal leave.
Enrollment in the bank is open to all eligible employees in the Knoxville area, including the UT Space Institute, the Institute for Public Service, and the Institute of Agriculture. Eligible faculty and staff must be regular full- or part-time employees with a balance of at least forty-eight hours of accrued sick leave—or six days, pro-rated for part-time employees—as of June 30. Employees meeting these requirements must complete an application and donate twenty-four hours of sick leave to the bank. These hours are non-refundable.
Employees already enrolled in the bank do not need to re-enroll.
