A new semester means new dining options for faculty, staff and students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. New dining locations and revamped menus will ensure there is something on campus to satisfy all Vols.
Open for Spring Semester
Union Deli opened Jan. 23 in the Student Union, replacing Subway. The deli-style eatery serves Boar’s Head deli sandwiches, salads and soups and offers vegan and vegetarian options.
Stokely Café also opened in Stokely Residence Hall on Jan. 23. The location offers Peet’s Coffee, UT Bakery pastries and grab-and-go lunch items.
Starting this spring, Fresh Food Company at Stokely will offer more extensive vegan, vegetarian and Halal options. New flat-top grills will ensure these dining options are authentic and not cross-contaminated. Additionally, Fresh Food Company and Southern Kitchen have extended their weekend hours.
A new Boar’s Head deli replaced the former Which Wich in Arena Café last fall. The menu offers sandwiches, soups, personal-sized flatbread pizzas and Starbucks coffee.
Opening This Summer
Big Orange Grill will open at the start of the fall 2023 semester. It will serve farm-to-table UT beef burgers, fries and milkshakes through a partnership with UT Creamery. Big Orange Grill will open in place of the current Steak ’n Shake.
A new Mediterranean dining concept will replace Rising Roll in time for the fall 2023 semester.
This summer will bring a total overhaul to Southern Kitchen in Vol Hall. Renovations will increase the seating capacity to help meet the needs of students who are looking for a larger dining option.
