Gwyn Davies, an expert on Roman siege warfare, will discuss the Roman fort of Yotvata during a lecture on Tuesday, October 27. Davies, an associate professor of history at Florida International University, will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the McClung Museum.
Brian Lee, design partner with the international architecture firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and a lead designer of the Additive Manufacturing and Integrated Energy system, a 3-D-printed energy-sharing house and vehicle, will present “Work—Innovation in Practice” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday as part of the College of Architecture and Design’s Church Lecture Series.
In celebration of International Archaeology Day and National Fossil Day, UT’s McClung Museum and the East Tennessee Society, the Archaeological Institute of America’s local chapter, will host “Can You Dig It?” This family-friendly event featuring activities about archaeology and fossils will be held Sunday, October 11, from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the museum.
