With the start of a new academic year, there are several new and interim department heads across campus:
In the College of Architecture and Design:
- Professor Jason Young is the new director of the School of Architecture. He is new at UT, coming from University of Michigan.
In the College of Arts and Sciences:
- Jan Simek, Distinguished Professor of Science, is serving as interim head of the Department of Anthropology.
- Randall Small, associate professor, is serving as the interim head of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
- Professor Richard Pacelle is the new head of the Department of Political Science. He is new at UT, coming from Georgia Southern University, where he taught since 2003.
- Rachelle Scott, associate professor, is serving as interim head of the Department of Religious Studies.
In the College of Business Administration:
- Joe Carcello, Ernst & Young and Business Alumni Professor, is the interim head of the Department of Accounting and Information Management.
- Charles Noon, Regal Entertainment Group Professor of Business, is the new head of the Department of Business Analytics and Statistics (formerly Statistics, Operations, and Management Science).
In the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences:
- Professor Ralph Brockett is serving as the interim head of the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling.
In the College of Engineering:
- Greg Reed, formerly associate vice chancellor for research and engagement, is interim head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
