On Dec. 12, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will welcome nearly 2,100 graduates into its alumni family during fall commencement ceremonies. The university will award approximately 1,337 undergraduate degrees and 739 graduate degrees and certificates.
Bachelor’s and master’s degrees will be awarded at a 9 a.m. ceremony for students graduating from the College of Architecture and Design; the College of Arts and Sciences; the Baker School of Public Policy and Public Affairs; the College of Communication and Information; the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences; the Winston College of Law; and the College of Nursing.
Bachelor’s and master’s degrees will be conferred at a 2:30 p.m. ceremony for the College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies, the Haslam College of Business, the Herbert College of Agriculture, the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music, the College of Social Work and the Tickle College of Engineering.
Doctoral hooding for all colleges will take place at 7:30 p.m. All ceremonies will be held in Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center and will be streamed live on the commencement website.
On the same day, seven cadets from Army ROTC and two from Air Force ROTC will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. armed forces. The Army ROTC commissioning ceremony will be held at noon at Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building. The Air Force ROTC commissioning ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in Room 180 of the Student Union.

As our students cross the stage, they carry forward the knowledge, resilience and Volunteer spirit they cultivated here on Rocky Top. We share their excitement as they begin the next chapter of their journeys as proud alumni of the University of Tennessee.”
Parking, transportation and security information
Graduates and their guests can park free of charge in university student parking areas throughout campus but should avoid parking in staff parking areas. The G10 garage next to the arena will have limited access, with the top level reserved for accessible parking. Due to construction, guests should enter the G10 garage from Neyland Drive. Free shuttle service to Food City Center from the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, 501 Howard Baker Ave., will be available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Buses will pick up in front of Garage B at the Coliseum and drop off guests at the corner of Chamique Holdsclaw Drive and Lake Loudoun Boulevard. Return service will pick up and drop off at the same locations.
The university’s clear bag policy will be enforced. Guests will be screened on entry by event security staff. Binoculars, cameras and video cameras are permissible without cases. Smoking and vaping are prohibited in and on all university property, including in private vehicles parked or in operation on university property.
