Fireworks explode over buildings on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

A new halftime spot from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is showing the world why there’s never been a better time to be a Volunteer.

Alumnus and new Voice of the Vols Mike Keith narrates the 30-second spot, which highlights the unbeatable experiences, life-changing research and historic moments that UT has to offer.

The halftime spot features a few of the opportunities that have become part of the Volunteer experience for students, including unparalleled academic opportunities and diverse learning environments that students can take advantage of on and off campus — from research labs to the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

New to campus this fall is the UT Medical Nursing Building, which offers 117,000 square feet of classrooms, simulation labs and offices. The new facility will help the university meet the need for nurses in the state.

In anticipation of FIFA World Cup 26 next summer, the commercial shines a light on the work of UT turfgrass science experts who are leading the design, installation and management of 16 soccer pitches and dozens of training sites for what will be one of the most-watched global sporting events of the year.

Alumni and fans will also relive some of the most thrilling moments from a record-breaking season of athletics, including Karlyn Pickens throwing the fastest softball pitch ever recorded and Vol baseball’s run in the College World Series.

All 20 sports at Tennessee reached the postseason for just the second time in school history.

Chancellor Donde Plowman will premiere the promo today on The Mike Keith Show. It will also play during the Vols’ matchup with Syracuse University in Atlanta on Saturday, Aug. 30, and then televised nationally during future UT sporting events.
