For the third consecutive year, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been ranked by Forbes as one of America’s best large employers. UT is one of four Southeastern Conference universities to be recognized on the 2024 list, announced Feb. 13.

“To receive this acknowledgment again is an honor,” said Tarah Keeler, interim associate vice chancellor for human resources. “This recognition reaffirms our tremendous dedication to creating an environment where every faculty and staff member feels valued, supported and inspired to thrive. We continue to look for ways to make our university a rewarding and welcoming environment for our employees to call home.”

The America’s Best Large Employers award is presented by Forbes and market research company Statista through an independent survey of approximately 170,000 U.S. employees in companies with at least 5,000 people working within the U.S. More than 3.5 million employer evaluations were considered. Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own.

In 2023 UT was recognized by Forbes as a best employer for new graduates and earned Great Place to Work certification for the second year in a row.
