Amanda Womac, director of communications for the College of Arts and Sciences, and Mark Harmon, professor of journalism, won awards in the 2017 Golden Press Card awards contest, hosted by the East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists.
Two UTPD officers, Rozzie Bomar and Travis Hamlin, graduated from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office Police Academy. They were among 25 recruits representing nine law enforcement agencies across Tennessee.
The Office of Sustainability will celebrate the last UT Earth Month 2018 event with Facilities Services during a ceremonial tree planting for National Arbor Day. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the event that will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, April 27, at the Engineering Quad.
The Haslam College of Business Building, the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, and the Student Union will open for extended hours during certain days of exams to accomodate students. Hodges Library will continue to stay open 24 hours a day.
