The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation recently got another big boost, as Lockheed Martin solidified its position as a charter level member with the group.
Lockheed Martin is one of the world’s premier aerospace and propulsion companies, with research and development impacting civil, military and space flight.
Charter level membership grants the company more influence on the direction of IACMI, as well as a giving the company a member on the IACMI Board of Directors.
IACMI Chief Executive Officer Craig Blue said that Lockheed Martin’s position as a “global security, innovation and aerospace company” strengthens the consortium and that they welcome the increased involvement.
IACMI was announced by President Obama in January, 2015 as a UT-led $259 million public-private research partnership.
