Paul Lewis, director of UT’s planetarium and space science outreach, will lead an exploration of the blue moon–the second full moon in a calendar month–later this week. Lewis, along with rangers from the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will celebrate this occurrence during an 8:00 p.m. program July 31 at the Bandy Creek Visitor Center.

The summer semester Veterinary Externship Program provides sophomore veterinary students and fifth-semester professional students an opportunity to work directly with more than a dozen private veterinary practices in East Tennessee. The program also provides community veterinarians the opportunity to enhance their veterinary knowledge through interaction with the college and students.
UT Knoxville received nearly $235 million in private and corporate gifts last fiscal year, marking the most successful fundraising year in its history. In fiscal year 2015, which ended June 30, more than 39,000 donors boosted private support by 79 percent over the previous year.
