College of Arts and Sciences Names Graduate Studies, Diversity Leaders

The College of Arts and Sciences has appointed two new associate deans to enhance the college’s graduate studies and diversity initiatives. Brent Mallinckrodt, professor of psychology, has been appointed associate dean for graduate studies, and Angela Batey, James Cox Professor of Music, has been appointed associate dean for diversity.

High Schoolers Experience College Life through Upward Bound Program

Earlier this month, high school students from Blount, Knox, and Sevier counties wrapped up a six-week college experience at UT as part of the Pre-College Upward Bound (PCUB) project. PCUB, a program through UT’s College Access and Persistence Services Outreach Center, provides potential first-generation college students from low-income households with guidance, support, and enrichment opportunities
