Melahnie Springfield, a graduate student in advertising, participated in UT’s first Social Media Week, April 25-26.
Springfield and her teammates took part in a social media advertising campaign competition on behalf of the XPS 13, Dell’s entry in the “ultrabook” line of lightweight laptops. Springfield’s team included fellow graduate students Courtney Kovacs, Yuxi Li, and Charles Primm.
The judge was Adam Brown, executive director of social media for Dell and a 1994 UT advertising graduate. Springfield’s hopes were realized when her team, “Social Impact,” won the competition and the grand prize: new XPS 13s for the group.
