UT Knoxville’s new Engineering Research Center, the Center for Ultra-wide-area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks, and the East Tennessee Discovery Center teamed up on Tuesday, February 21, to host a science night at Whittle Springs Middle School.
Technology with roots in the Department of Anthropology’s Forensic Research Facility is being licensed by the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory with the hope of bringing criminals more swiftly to justice and giving greater closure to grieving families. The new remote sensing technology is being licensed to Agile Technologies of Knoxville.
By the end of the week, parking meters along Phillip Fulmer Way should be gone and work started to convert most of those spaces to commuter parking. The university has taken ownership of Phillip Fulmer Way, Peyton Manning Pass and Tee Martin Drive. The streets previously were owned by the city of Knoxville.
The College of Business Administration ranks first worldwide in research productivity in the area of supply chain management and logistics. The ranking appears in the “International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management” and covers the 2008 to 2010 timeframe.
The Office of Emergency Management wants all faculty and staff to be part of the Campus Emergency Response Team. In an effort to better connect the campus-wide effort with the people who work and live in buildings throughout campus, the university is establishing a network of Emergency Preparedness Coordinators.
