Researchers have found that lizards incubated in warmer environments may learn faster than others. The results are preliminary, but they suggest that a hotter climate could give some lizards a cognitive edge, potentially helping them escape predators. Professor Gordon Burghardt agrees that the study is important for linking learning with climate.
Shortly after the January 12, 2010, earthquake rocked Haiti, a group of students and faculty from UT Knoxville collaborated on designing and constructing a secondary school complex in the island nation’s town of Fond-des-Blancs. Today marks the two-year anniversary of the earthquake.
The Faculty Pub reopens today for the spring semester at the Bridgeview Grill on Neyland Drive. The pub will be open from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. each Thursday for the remainder of the semester. This semester also will include “Third Thursdays,” three special pub nights which will feature live music performed by UT faculty.
