Assistant Professor in Engineering Chris Cherry and his e-bike pilot program was heralded in Fast Company’s article naming the top five transit technologies for the low-carbon economy. The article acknowledges that people need to move around, but can do it in a less impactful way with these five innovations. One of the five innovation is bike-sharing in which the article noted, “The next phase of bike-sharing is e-bikes. The University of Tennessee just launched a pilot e-bike sharing program, one of the first in the world.”
