UT Knoxville continues to be one of America’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to Forbes, the popular business magazine. Forbes’s 2012 “America’s Best Colleges” list ranks 650 institutions based on the quality of education provided by the schools, the experience of the students, and the achievements of students and alumni.
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is now home to a place for discussion of pressing topics in environmental and energy science and policy. This fall will see the launch of an Interdisciplinary Discussion Forum for Energy and the Environment.

Tennessee has now made its first contribution to a national electronic database of historical newspapers, thanks to a federal grant. The Tennessee Digital Newspaper Project is a joint effort between UT and the Tennessee State Library and Archives to digitize more than 100,000 pages of Tennessee’s microfilmed newspapers dating from 1836 to 1922.
