If you are more inclined to love thyself than thy neighbor, it could be your mother’s fault. Those are the findings of Francisco Úbeda, assistant professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at UT Knoxville.
First-year students and faculty members agree: FYS 129 seminars are a change from the ordinary. Students enjoy small-group learning while transitioning to college, and professors enjoy engaging with students on topics of mutual interest while receiving $1,500 for research support. These one-credit courses are not graded; transcripts simply report whether students satisfactorily completed course requirements.
