Wesley Baldwin, associate professor of the Cello Studio in the School of Music, opens the Pre-Game Faculty Showcase at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with “Brazilian-Bach Fusion: The Music of Villa-Lobos.” The first Pre-Game Faculty Showcase program begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, in the University Center Ballroom before the football game against Alabama-Birmingham.

Knoxville-native Mike West and his wife, Tiffiny, have made a $1 million contribution to the University of Tennessee College of Business Administration to support technology in the college’s new classroom building, opening late in 2008. Their gift is part of the Campaign for Tennessee, a $1 billion fundraising effort at UT Knoxville.
University of Tennessee President John Petersen begins an annual series of campus visits with a stop in Chattanooga today. In the next four weeks, Petersen will make day-long stops at each of the UT System’s five campuses, and he will meet with employees of UT’s statewide Institute of Agriculture, Institute for Public Service, and those
