The University of Tennessee is welcoming its most academically qualified freshman class in its history. With about 4,200 freshmen expected to start classes on August 23, one-third of the class has a core GPA of 4.0.
The long days of summer have come to an end for University of Tennessee students, but campus events are planned to make the transition back to classes as painless as possible.

The University of Tennessee remained among the nation’s 40 top public universities, and its business program entered the top 25, according to U.S. News and World Report’s 2007 college and university rankings.
