The Knoxville Urban Wilderness is adjacent to the heart of Knoxville and provides extensive recreational activities including mountain biking, trail running and hiking.
The partnership represents continued shared goals of advancing knowledge through practical solutions and progress toward a better future.
UT’s grant will increase tree canopy coverage, reduce stormwater runoff, mitigate extreme heat and bring ecosystem services to underserved communities in East Knoxville.
Fellows and affiliates working with the two centers represent 12 colleges and more than 20 departments at UT as well as industry, every level of government and the nonprofit sector.
