A group of Facilities Services workers are getting an opportunity to sharpen their English skills thanks to a free program offered by the English Language Institute. The class, which began in January, meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Four faculty from ELI volunteered to teach the class on a rotating basis,
Twenty students from China are learning about sports psychology and elite athletic performance in Knoxville this summer thanks to a partnership between UT and the Shanghai University of Sport. The group, composed of undergraduate students from the Shanghai University of Sport, arrived at UT this month and will leave August 1. The English Language Institute
UT has opened its doors to Brazilian teachers and undergraduate students who are here to improve their English and learn more about the United States. Twenty-four teachers arrived at UT earlier this month and will stay until February 21. In addition to their other studies, the teachers will be honing their teaching skills.
Hanadi AlMazroue and Jeddah Canever were shown just how small the world is when they signed up for the Conversation Partners Program at the English Language Institute. The ELI is a UT institution affiliated with the Center for International Education. ELI students are not UT students; rather they apply and pay tuition to the institute.
Twelve faculty and staff members from China are participating in a short-term language and culture program at UT’s English Language Institute. The group from Sichuan University of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, arrived at UT on June 7 and will stay on campus through June 22.
