Following the announcement by the CDC and FDA regarding the recommended pause in use of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, the university has canceled its public vaccination clinic on Tuesday, April 13. We are in contact with the Tennessee Department of Health to gather more information.
We will use the Moderna vaccine for our public clinic on Friday, April 16, at the Student Union. Anyone with an appointment this week, April 13–16, for Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine at Tuesday’s public clinic or through the Student Health Center will be provided information on rescheduling to receive the Moderna vaccine on Friday, April 16. People already signed up for Friday’s public clinic can keep their appointments.
Second-dose Moderna appointments this week at the Student Health Center are not affected. We will reach out directly to people with appointments at all upcoming UT clinics to provide more information.
