Faculty or instructors who arrangefor a prominent alumnus or alumna to return to campus to speak to your classes should consider nominating them for an Accomplished Alumni Award.
“The criteria for the award are simple,” said Brittany Fowler, senior director of stewardship and donor relations. “They need to be accomplished. They need to be an alumnus or alumna. And they need to be deserving of an award.”
The award is an excellent way to show appreciation for the time and talents that alumni give back to the university. Along with the award, winners also receive a bag of alumni giveaways, a framed photo of the award presentation, and a congratulatory letter. They can also be interviewed for a story to be posted on the UT alumni webpage.
Alumni who have been honoredinclude CEOs, Olympians, authors, artists, musicians, ambassadors, and civic leaders. See the list of UT Accomplished Alumni Award winners.
To nominate someone for an award, complete the online nomination form and send it to Brittany Fowler at bfowler@utfi.org. Please allow at least two weeks for approval and to get an award made. The Office of Stewardship and Donor Relations will contact you to help make any final arrangements and ensure that your alumni speaker has a great experience on campus.
