Crews are working hard to finish a few of the many construction projects underway on campus. The final section of the Volunteer Boulevard streetscape project between Cumberland Avenue and Peyton Manning Pass will open to vehicles and pedestrians at 6 p.m. Friday, August 17.
A small section of the Johnson-Ward Pedestrian Walkway at the intersection with Volunteer Boulevard will be closed until August 22, the first day of classes for the fall semester. The closure is to place the final touches on the decorative checkerboard design spanning the street.
A closed section of sidewalk on the east side of Volunteer Boulevard at Cumberland Avenue is set to open by August 22. Final paving of that stretch of Volunteer Boulevard will be done early in the semester, and will require partial lane closures during the work. Loading or unloading will no longer be allowed along any campus streets. Motorists are encouraged to use the appropriate parking lot or loading dock.
