In a recent letter to the editor of the News Sentinel, UT math professor Conrad Plaut explains that the faculty previously interviewed by the News Sentinel concerning the enhanced post-tenure performance review proposed by the Board of Trustees, don’t speak for all UT faculty.
“As head of the mathematics department, my chief concern is not that the proposal will ‘essentially eliminate tenure.’ It won’t. Rather, this proposal will add yet another layer of bureaucratic activity to departments that should be focused on teaching, research and service,” said Plaut.
