UT will be conducting an active shooter exercise May 15. This drill is being conducted to assess the immediate response by law enforcement and university personnel to a simulated active shooter. Participants are needed from 6:30 a.m. to noon. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

UT participated in a full-scale disaster drill at Neyland Stadium in spring 2015.

In order to train in a realistic environment, an active shooter event will be simulated during the drill. Volunteers are needed to to play the roles of victims, witnesses, and bystanders. Volunteers will be provided with makeup and cards with information about simulated injuries.

Interested individuals should email meparry@utk.edu (please use “Exercise Volunteer” in the subject line of the email) by April 30 with the following information:

  • Staff, student, or faculty
  • Contact phone number and/or email address

Participants will receive a confirmation letter with pertinent information.
