VolShop director Carol Miller-Schaefer is being honored with the National Association of College Stores’ Aspen Award. The award is a lifetime achievement honor given to individuals for their leadership, service, contributions to education, and professional development in the collegiate retail industry. Miller-Schaefer will receive the award in March.
The VolShop also was recently recognized by the NACS for its work with the Adera Foundation, a fair-trade organization that provides jobs to women in Ethiopia. The women use recycled paper products, including undistributed UT football programs, to create handcrafted bead necklaces. The VolShop sells Adera Foundation necklaces, many in the trademark UT Orange color, with the proceeds supporting the Ethiopian communities that produce them.
