UT Knoxville formally welcomed Chancellor Beverly Davenport to campus during her investiture ceremony in the Cox Auditorium on Friday, October 13.

An investiture is an event that gives the new chancellor a chance to lay out his or her vision for the university, and Davenport’s speech touched on East Tennessee being a hub of innovation, partnerships with the community and other institutions of higher learning, and the Volunteer spirit of inclusiveness.

Davenport, who took office in February, is the university’s eighth chancellor.
