1,625 orange mortarboard decals will be placed on the Student Union windows facing the pedestrian bridge to represent the undergraduate scholarships awarded last year from 613 new scholarships created because of private giving since 2012.

Be on the lookout for hundreds of mortarboards, chairs, hanging lights, giant blocks, and sports equipment throughout Rocky Top this week.

UT Knoxville is launching the most ambitious fundraising effort in its 223-year university history. A community-wide launch is set for 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, in the Strong Hall Atrium. All students, faculty, and staff are invited.

Every day this week, the campus will feature a new impact installation to serve as visual representations of the campaign’s five key priorities—undergraduate scholarships; graduate fellowships; faculty awards, professorships, and chairs; college and unit priorities; and comprehensive athletic excellence.

The impact installations will be up by 11 a.m. Light refreshments will be served. The Rock will also be painted each morning by Student Alumni Associates to highlight each installation.
