Make plans to join the Volunteer family in breaking the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest human letter by forming an enormous Power T in Neyland Stadium on Wednesday, March 29.
The feat will be broadcast live from 7 to 9 a.m. on NBC’s Today show, with weatherman Al Roker doing his weather reports from the stadium. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are being recruited to attend the event.
Supervisors should encourage employees to attend while ensuring that offices are covered. The event begins at 5:30 a.m. and concludes at 8:45 am, so those who participate can report to work by 9 a.m. Participants must sign up in advance.
In a message to faculty, Interim Provost John Zomchick wrote, “This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our university and support our efforts to recruit students from across the nation. It will also be a memorable time for all students, faculty, staff, and alumni as we stand together for UT on national television.”
While students with an 8 a.m. class will be unable to be part of the event, there are accommodations to store backpacks or other belongings for students so they will be able to make it to 9:05 sessions and all classes thereafter.
