Cases of the flu are still being reported across the country, so the staff of the Student Health Center want to remind you of tips for avoiding the flu and ways to help treat it.
The majority of people who contract the flu will not require a doctor’s treatment.
The Student Health Center recommends that all students respond quickly to flu-like symptoms. Typical symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, headache, and sore throat. With cases increasing during the winter months, the Student Health Center encourages everyone to take the following actions to minimize the risk of getting the flu.
Most people with the flu will recover in seven to ten days. During that time, symptomatic treatment may include a number of measures.
If you plan to visit the Student Health Center, take advantage of its online scheduling portal where you are able to schedule, change, and cancel your clinic appointments all in one spot.
The Student Health Center offers a pharmacy inside of the building for your prescription needs. The pharmacy accepts most major prescription plans and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except for Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
