In the last eight years, the Quest Scholar of the Week program has recognized more than 400 scholars, celebrating their breakthrough discoveries and the accomplishments of our research community. This year, the Quest Scholar concept is being updated to better showcase our scholars and their great research stories.
Those selected for Quest Scholar recognition will have their work highlighted across a variety of communications platforms, including the Office of Research and Engagement’s Cataylst newsletter, Quest research magazine and its companion website, Tennessee Today, and the main UT Knoxville website and social media outlets.
To be considered for this recognition, faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to share their significant research or creative accomplishments with a campus communicator, dean, department head, or director. They can also complete an online nomination.
Nominations will be evaluated by a team of communications professionals and senior administrators within the Office of Research and Engagement. The frequency of Quest Scholar announcements may vary depending on the pool of eligible nominees.
The Office of Research and Engagement and the Office of Communications and Marketing will work closely together on this new nomination process, which will take effect this semester. Prior scholars will continue to be archived on the Quest website.
