If you plan to be on campus during fall break, you might be wondering what will stay open and which operating times will be different Thursday through Sunday.

UT Housing

All residence halls will remain open during fall break.

Volunteer Dining

Volunteer Dining dining location hours can be found here.


TRECS and the Student Aquatic Center will be open with modified hours. The HPER Building, the HPER Climbing Wall, the RecSports Fields at Sutherland, and the Outdoor Center will be closed.

The T Transit System

The T Limited Access and Link Service will run Thursday, October 6, and Friday, October 7. The Hill, Neyland Express, Fort, and Late Nite Service will not run.

The Limited Link Service will run on Saturday, October 8. The Late Nite service will not run on Saturday night. On Sunday, October 9, the Regular Late Nite and Link Service will be in service.

UT Libraries

The John C. Hodges Library will continue with regular hours during fall break. A full schedule of all library location hours can be found here.

Student Union

Locations in the Student Union will have varying hours throughout fall break. Check the Volunteer Dining website for dining operating hours and the VolShop website for shop operating hours.

Construction Update

Eastbound Volunteer Boulevard between Todd Helton Drive and Pat Head Summitt Street will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. Thursday, October 6, to 6 a.m. Monday, October 10, as part of the Volunteer Boulevard streetscape project. The road will be repaved and new traffic lights will be installed. Detour signs will be placed at both ends of the road closure. Westbound lanes of Volunteer Boulevard will be open through the area.
