Frank Hale, Extension entomologist at the Soil, Plant, and Pest Center in Nashville, will have his “Traveling Elixir of Ornamental Ailments” on campus from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Hollingsworth Auditorium in the Ellington Plant Sciences Building.

Hale’s exhibit focuses on insects of ornamental plants. During this time, he will answer questions about insects affecting ornamental plants. This visit is sponsored by the students of EPP 410 (Diseases and Insects of Ornamental Plants). Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

This exhibit showcases the variety of insects that damage ornamental plants in landscape and nursery settings in Tennessee. If you want to know what that “bug” on your azaleas is or what borer is killing your dogwoods, Hale can show you what it looks like, as well as offer advice on how to manage it.
