UT’s Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy will host two guest lecturers later this month. Both lectures are free and open to the public, and will take place at the Baker Center.

Marianne Wanamaker
Marianne Wanamaker, assistant professor of economics in UT’s Haslam College of Business, will present a lecture February 24 at UT’s Baker Center.

February 24—Marianne Wanamaker, Baker Cafe Series, 1:15–2:15 p.m. in the Howard Baker Reading Room. Wanamaker, assistant professor of economics in UT’s Haslam College of Business, will present “Discrimination and the American Economy.” She’ll share her expertise as a researcher in the areas of American economic history, education, demography, and labor economics.

Samar S. Ali
Samar A. Ali, international conflict mediator and attorney, will present a lecture at the Baker Center February 29.

February 29— Samar S. Ali, Global Security Lecture, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Toyota Auditorium. Ali, an international conflict mediator and attorney for Bone, McAllester, Norton PLLC in Nashville, will present “Countering Violent Extremism in Syria and Beyond.” C-SPAN will film the lecture for broadcast in early March.
