The College of Architecture and Design will host Matthew McMahon at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 22, when he will present “Planting Thoughts: Approaches to Vegetation in Contemporary Landscape.”

Matthew McMahonThe lecture will be held in Room 113 of the Art and Architecture Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.

McMahon is a landscape and architectural designer for Snohetta, an international architecture, landscape, interior, and brand design company. At Snohetta, McMahon has led numerous design and redevelopment projects across the country. Previously, he was an architectural designer, ecological designer, and landscape designer for firms in New York.

Snohetta has offices in Norway, Sweden, Austria, Singapore and the United States. The company has been shortlisted to design the Obama Presidential Center.

McMahon earned a Master of Architecture degree from Princeton University after earning two Bachelor of Science degrees, in landscape architecture and plant sciences, from Pennsylvania State University.
