PozinOn graduation day, some college students are overcome with fear because they don’t have a job waiting for them.

Gabrielle Pozin, who graduated from UT on Friday, was one of those students. Almost.

Pozin received the call of a lifetime en route to her post-commencement celebration lunch. With the call came the offer to be the special events trainee with the Atlanta Braves for the 2016 season.

“I kept checking my phone during the ceremony to see if they had called,” Pozin said. “When they finally did on the way to lunch, I couldn’t contain my excitement. It was definitely a day filled with lots of happy tears.”

Pozin, who completed her bachelor’s degree in three-and-a-half years, majored in sport management and minored in business administration.

During college, Pozin spent a year and a half working in football recruiting operations with UT Athletics. She spent the summer following her freshman year interning for the Peninsula Pilots collegiate summer baseball team in Hampton, Virginia. She also spent this past summer interning for Aloha Tournaments outside Baltimore.

UT’s fall commencement ceremony took place on Friday, December 11. More than 2,300 students were recognized during the ceremony.
