The Society of Physics Students will be dropping frozen pumpkins from a height of 80 feet at 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 30, near the Humanities and Social Sciences building, between McClung Plaza and Volunteer Drive.
Science demonstrations from student organizations begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.
During the drop, students will discuss the physics of gravity and liquid nitrogen. The group will drop about a dozen pumpkins from a lift provided by Facilities Services.
Costumes are encouraged, and faculty and staff are invited to bring their families.
