Census data users across the state are invited to a free Data Users Conference hosted by UT on November 17. The seminar, sponsored by UT’s Tennessee State Data Center, will take place in Murfreesboro at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 1850 Old Fort Parkway.

The daylong event begins at 8:30 a.m. CST and will provide information on the latest Census data products and applications of interest to Tennessee data users.

The State Data Center is the clearinghouse for all state Census information and the official source of Tennessee county-level population projections. It is housed in the Center for Business and Economic Research within UT’s Haslam College of Business.

During the conference, experts from the United States Census Bureau and CBER will discuss the 2020 Census Update, the newly released Census Business Builder Tool, Economic Census data, Local Employment Dynamics Data Tools, the state economy, and county population projections.

Bill Fox, CBER’s director, will give a state economic overview. Shirin Ahmed, the acting assistant director for decennial programs at the United States Census Bureau, will be presenting the 2020 Census Update.

Registration is now open for the conference. The deadline to register is Monday, November 2.

Breakfast, lunch, and complimentary parking at the DoubleTree are included for conference participants.
