Pre-College Summer Program in Engineering
The Pre-College Summer Program in Engineering provides a series of five, one-week residential programs designed to introduce middle- and high-school students to engineering. The program’s mission is to provide early exposure to and preparation for scientific study and research for students who show an interest in engineering studies. Thirty-two students are selected to participate for each session. Hands-on activities spark an interest in the world of engineering and allow students to explore career opportunities. Throughout the program, participants are challenged to apply what they have learned in engineering competitions. The program has been in operation since 1997, with an annual involvement of approximately fourteen faculty members and 160 middle- and high-school students.
