Tanisha Jenkins, director of the Office of Multicultural Student Life, was honored at this year’s Multicultural Gradation Celebration with the Beacon of Light Award, named in her honor. The award was created in Jenkins name because of her outstanding contributions to diversity and multiculturalism at UT.

Each year, this award will recognize a faculty or staff member who exhibits the principles of this award. The committee for this year’s award consisted of Laquesha Wilson, Kamille Cheatham, Kierra Richmond, Rilwan Balogun, and Christopher Smith.

Jenkins was also honored by Clemson University with the 2015 Counselor Education and Student Affairs Program Alumni Award. She was selected for this award for her demonstrated achievements and exceptional contributions in the following areas: the academic program, professional organizations, students, innovative programming and activities, and institutional leadership. Jenkins will be honored on May 7 at Clemson University.
