Faculty and staff are invited to make plans now to attend several special Faculty Appreciation events next week.
On Monday, February 16, the Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center and the Provost’s Office will host a luncheon where two faculty members— Joy Radice, associate professor of law, and Nick Geidner, assistant professor of journalism and electronic media—will present “Innovations in Teaching: It’s Not Your Average Classroom.”
The event, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom, is free, but you must register.
Lunchgoers also will get to view research posters by past and current recipients of Creative Teaching Grants and Summer Teaching Institute awards.
On Friday, February 20, the Department of Psychology and the Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center will host a breakfast presentation by Regan Gurung, a noted education and psychology expert from the University of Wisconsin.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. in the University Center Crest Room. It is free, but seating is limited. Register here.
Gurung’s presentation is entitled “Going Behind the Scenes of Learning: Practicing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.”
