The university has received some great national attention this year for the progress made in the journey to become a Top 25 public research university.
The APLU gave UT its Trailblazer award for increasing retention and graduation rates. UT also received the 2015 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification for mutually beneficial community partnerships.
UT couldn’t have garnered these accolades if it weren’t for the dedication and hard work of its employees.
To recognize and thank faculty, “trailblazers” is the theme of 2015 Faculty Appreciation Week, to be held next week, February 16–20.
The week will include several special events for faculty and staff, including specially priced tickets for the men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 14, and the women’s basketball game on Thursday, February 19. There also will be added discounts at VolShop and campus dining establishments.
Watch for more information about these and other events, as well as special Faculty Appreciation Week stories about selected faculty members, in Tennessee Today.
Everything related to Faculty Appreciation Week, including the popular Shout-Out forum where students and staff can leave praise for faculty and read what others are saying, can be found online.
