Beginning Tuesday, June 10, a portion of the sidewalk on the east side of Volunteer Boulevard near the entrance of the Haslam Business Building on the south side of the Pedestrian Walkway will close temporarily for work related to the new student union. The work is expected to last approximately three weeks.

During this time, parts of the intersection of Volunteer Boulevard and the Pedestrian Walkway will be closed to pedestrians. Beginning tomorrow, the crosswalk in front of the Claxton Education Building will close for approximately one week. Once that part of the project is completed, the crosswalk in front of Claxton will reopen, and the crosswalk in front of the Haslam Business building will close for approximately two weeks.

An accessible crosswalk will remain available throughout the project. The front entrances of both academic buildings also will remain open during the closure.

We recognize that closing a primary pedestrian thoroughfare will present a challenge for a few weeks. We appreciate your patience and ask that you use the designated crosswalks to ensure your safety.
