Employees Enjoy Food, Friendship at Spring Thank-You Lunch

Thanks to all faculty and staff who attended the Chancellor’s Spring Thank You picnic Tuesday. More than 1,300 employees enjoyed a casual lunch at the zero-waste picnic held at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Tuesday’s event was organized in response to survey feedback from UT employees who asked for more opportunities to see and hear directly from their campus or institute leader. Cheek hosted a Back to School Barbecue in August, which he hopes to make a new campus tradition. All Knoxville-area employees also will be invited to a comprehensive employee benefits fair on September 24 at the University Center.

Chancellor Cheek is now hosting luncheons for all new faculty and staff and began holding open office hours to provide faculty and staff a chance to discuss issues of interest and concern.
