This annual celebration gives us a chance to celebrate the impact our faculty have in the classroom, in the laboratory, and in the community.

You can RSVP now for these special events:

  • The Tennessee Teaching and Learning Center’s free luncheon workshop, “Flipping Out at UT: the Pedagogy of Flipped Classrooms,” 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12. It will be presented by center staff along with Professors Richard Bennett and Brad Vander Zanden and lecturer Will Schleter, all from the College of Engineering, and Mary Holcomb, associate professor in the College of Business Administration. Sign up here or contact Beth Bigler at bbigler@utk.edu today.
  • The Whipping Man at the Carousel Theatre, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 12. A reception for attending faculty and staff will be held prior to the show. For discount tickets, call 974-5161 or visit the box office.
  • Basketball games—Lady Vols vs. Vanderbilt, 9:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, and Vols vs. Florida, 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11. Visit UTTix.com and use promotional code VOLS4UTK for $7 tickets.

More information about events and discounts will be sent to you in the coming days.

Also during Faculty Appreciation Week, stay tuned to Tennessee Today for daily stories, videos, and social media posts highlighting some of our exceptional faculty. Our popular shout-out page will be back. And we’ll also be encouraging students to post selfies with their favorite faculty member on social media—so if someone wants to take a photo with you, please smile and say “cheese.”
