Job title: Director, University Center. I have overall responsibility for University Center facilities, services and space assigned to the Student Government Association, Student Activities, the Center for Leadership and Service, and others located in the center, with the exception of Volshop and Dining Services, which are separate departments. I also serve as an administrator involved in the planning, design, and construction of the new Student Union.

Hobbies: Reading, trying to stay physically active, and participating in outdoor activities.

Why did you choose to work at UT? I wanted to work at a land-grant flagship institution and an opportunity came open at the University Center. I applied for the position and have been employed at UT for twenty-six years.

What is your favorite part of being a UT Vol? My favorite part is being associated with high-caliber students and being able to work with staff and faculty committed to assisting students with a positive and meaningful educational experience.

What’s your best piece of advice for UT students? Set your goals and aspirations to do whatever it is you want in life and focus your energies in achieving these ends.

Best part of working with UT students? Many students I come into contact with are goal-driven and really want to be at this institution. They are well prepared and are willing to do what is necessary to achieve their goals.
