The Office of the Chancellor is issuing a call for entries from students who would like to speak at the fall 2013 commencement ceremony. The selected student must be receiving a bachelor’s degree in the fall 2013 semester.
A committee of students, faculty, and staff will review the submissions and recommend finalists to the chancellor.
The speech should emphasize experiences at UT, have an overarching relevant theme to the graduating class, be well written, and be no more than five minutes in length. Finalists will be asked to present their speech to the committee prior to final selection.
Deadline for Submission
Interested graduating students must submit commencement speeches for consideration by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18. The commencement ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Requirement for Submission
- Submit speech via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Attach the speech in .doc and .pdf formats.
- Attach a resume that includes your e-mail address and local phone number.
