Crews from Facilities Services and UT Warehousing worked from March until June to declutter campus buildings during the Spring Cleanup, and the totals are in. In effort to get rid of surplus equipment, trash, and recyclables, the crews visited thirty-three buildings in fourteen weeks.
The campus produced:
- 102 tons of surplus equipment and furniture,
- 260 cubic yards of construction trash, and
- eighty cubic yards of scrap metal to be recycled.
While the Spring Cleanup targeted most academic buildings on campus, new and recently renovated buildings were not included. Departments in any building may arrange a pick up of surplus property by contacting UT Warehousing at 974-7773.
